The Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC) changes name to the Washington State Board of Nursing (WABON).

To join the Multistate Nursing Licensure Compact, the Nursing Commission made a name change. Effective July 24, 2023, the new name is the Washington State Board of Nursing (WABON). You may also hear other acronyms such as the Board of Nursing, the Nursing Board, and WABON. Though the name has changed, WABON continues to protect the public’s health and safety by regulating the competency and quality of licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, advanced registered nurse practitioners, and nursing technicians.
