Presented to an individual or individuals who have made significant contributions, rendered distinguished service or valuable assistance to the nursing profession.

Dawn Marick is a fierce nurse and patient advocate.

Early in the pandemic Dawn joined other nurses statewide to promote masking and vaccination efforts in our community. Dawn has volunteered countless hours in advocacy for safe staffing in southwest Washington. Recently Dawn boldly appeared on her local news to speak up for the importance of supporting safe staffing and nurses working conditions.

When Dawn led recent staffing grievances at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, nurses said: “Dawn was amazing! Very well- spoken and articulate!”

Dawn can capture a room with her bedside nursing advocacy. She works as a float pool nurse, so she has a firsthand angle on the challenging working conditions.

She also embodies the slogan “Be the nurse you want to work alongside with.” Dawn truly leads by example, as evidenced by multi-Daisy and peer award recognitions.

Dawn Marick has done so much for nurses and patients in southwest Washington.
