Running for office

WSNA is a member-led organization, and running for office offers you the opportunity to shape WSNA’s strategic direction, policy positions, and program priorities. The election will be held shortly after WSNA’s Washington State Nurses Convention.

We have posted the initial slate of candidates for WSNA office (as of Jan. 15, 2025).

March 1 is the deadline for nomination and consent-to-serve forms for candidates wishing to have their name and candidate statement published in an official WSNA publication and appear on the election ballot.

Note that nominations can also be declared from the floor of the General Assembly on May 1.

Find out more or go directly to the nomination form.

All WSNA members in good standing, whether or not they are represented for collective bargaining by WSNA, have the right to run for and/or be appointed to the WSNA Board of Directors, councils, and committees, and as a WSNA representative to the 2025-26 American Nurses Association (ANA) Membership Assembly. Only WSNA members represented for collective bargaining (union members) can run for the WSNA Labor Executive Council and the Labor Executive Council Nominating / Search Committee, as well as a delegate to the 2026 AFT National Convention.

Deadline for submitting resolutions extended to March 1!

Influence WSNA;s priorities for the next two years by submitting a resolution for consideration at the General Assembly portion of Convention! At General Assembly we’ll discuss and vote on resolutions setting policy for WSNA.

Examples of previous resolutions can be found here.

Submit a resolution by emailing Mary Mainville at mmainville@wsna.org.
