The 1,100 registered nurses at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham are strongly in solidarity with workers on the picket line May 12-16.

The striking workers are represented by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW and the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD).

The nurses, represented by the Washington State Nurses Association, will hold an informational picket in solidarity with their striking coworkers from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 before returning to the bargaining table for their own negotiations the next morning.

Though WSNA members at the facility are not on strike themselves, nurses are supporting their striking colleagues by filing formal complaints over staffing levels during their shifts and joining SEIU and UAPD members on the picket line off the clock.

On April 29, nurses at PeaceHealth St. Joseph held an informational picket to bring awareness of stalled contract negotiations involving subpar wages, skyrocketing health insurance costs, and lack of respect.
