Another surge of COVID-19 and Retention
WSNA officers and nurse rep at CWH have been negotiating a COVID-19 Incentive Bonus MOU (Memorandum of Understanding). When it is officially executed, we will provide you with a signed copy of the MOU.

We have been meeting with management regularly for updates on PPE as per the Governor’s proclamation. If you have PPE concerns or issues, please let your officers know.

We know this has been extremely challenging times and nurses are stressed out, exhausted, and in many cases, nurses have left the bedside. It’s not just happening at CWH, nurses throughout the State of WA are leaving ICU’s for other more lucrative or more satisfying jobs or leaving the bedside because they are burnt out.

If you have a story to tell about being on the front lines of the Covid pandemic, please send them to your nurse rep, Carmen Garrison. WSNA is looking for real stories of front line nurses and what it has been like to be a nurse during these times.

Bi-Lingual Premium LOU (Letter of Understanding)
We met with management regarding a Bi-Lingual Premium. To view the LOU (Letter of Understanding) it is located under your contract on your WSNA Local Unit page

PTO MOU during COVID-19
You can also find this MOU on your WSNA Local Unit page .

Nursing Town Hall
Every other Thursday there is a Nursing Town Hall. We encourage all RNs to attend these very interesting and valuable nursing town halls.

The next meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. today (January 7, 2021) and every other Thursday after that. It’s the same link every time so put it on your calendars and plan on attending. Check your email or contact Carmen for the link.

Pay for Donning and Doffing
The issue of Donning and Doffing has come up especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. If you change into scrubs when you come to work, you should clock in first. You have 15 minutes on either side of the clock for donning and doffing. Clock in, change into your scrubs and be ready for report on time. At the end of your shift, doff your scrubs and change back into street clothes then clock out. This has been a long-standing policy for OR but also relates to anyone who dons and doffs for work. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact one of your officers or your nurse representative from WSNA.

Local Unit Officers:
Crystal Clabaugh, Nicholas Jackson, Lorna Sebastian, Paul Stamilio, Stefanie Gates, Paul Molenaar. We are currently recruiting for 2 open officer positions. If you are interested, please contact one of the officers.
