Bargaining Update

On December 1 and 2, your contract negotiation team met with Virginia Mason Franciscan Rehab administration for our second and third days of in person negotiations. On Monday we received a full proposal from management that was responsive to many of our proposals. Management has agreed in principle to a true union wage scale, with mid-year step increases for all nurses, as well as annual January 1 percentage raises, though we remain far apart on wages.
On Tuesday we exchanged counter proposals. Thus far, we have achieved tentative agreement on multiple proposals. These TA's include tentative agreements related to Workplace Violence Prevention, grievance procedure, health insurance/dental/life/disability, and more! In addition, management has engaged with our proposals to increase the preceptor differential, remove the cap on precepting hours, and offer a MSN/BSN premium.
We are still pushing for higher wages, an increase to night shift and charge differentials, and a better paid time off system.
We have started a petition to Mary Jo. Members of the bargaining team are asking that you sign ASAP to show your support for a fair contract! Contact a bargaining team member to sign.
