Negotiations Update  June 13, 2022

On Sunday June 12th, we met with management virtually for our first contract negotiation session. Our proposals focused on attracting and retaining nurses at Fresenius. This was the only bargaining session before the expiration of our contract that management said they could do, even though we notified them in accordance with the law back in March. We have two more sessions scheduled on June 28th and June 29th both virtual; management said they would only meet with us for five hours each time.

We then walked management through our comprehensive proposal based on the feedback you all gave us on what you wanted to see in your contract. Our proposal included things like a fair and equitable wage scale so that nurses would get paid based on years of experience, a minimum 10% raise, a per diem premium of 15% (which is standard practice in health care), daily overtime, and many more improvements.

Management’s response was disappointing, to say the least. They came back with numerous take-aways. We will continue these discussions next session June 28th, and hope management comes back with a more willingness to move on our proposals that are fair for the nurses and comparable to other facilities in the area.

Attend the Virtual Local Unit Meeting. Tuesday, June 14 at 6 p.m.

We will update you on the first negotiations meeting and let you know what you can do to show Solidarity and Support for your team. Unless you are working at that time, you need to do your best to attend. This is YOUR contract. We need YOUR voice and participation
