Our Picket was Powerful! MultiCare, your move...
Posted May 28, 2026

Yesterday, hundreds of nurses, community members, labor allies, elected officials, neighbors, family members, dogs, and kids united at our informational picket to show MultiCare what we have been saying since the start of negotiations: Good Sam Nurses Deserve Respect.
Our next bargaining session is on June 2 at MultiCare University. Observers are welcome starting at 10am to see how MultiCare responds to our show of unity and strength. We expect them to come to bargaining and engage seriously with our proposals on staffing, wages, scheduling, discrimination, and charge nurse work.
Check out our media coverage of the picket in the Tacoma News Tribune and Fox 13 News!
Picket Sign Contest Submissions!
We LOVED seeing everyone's funny and creative signs at the picket. Send a picture of yours to GSHaction@wsna.org to get entered in a contest where two winners will receive a 50-dollar Michaels gift card!

Union Allies Across Washington Support Us
We are so grateful to all of the union allies that took the time to come and stand with us on the picket line yesterday! We loved seeing our SEIU colleagues who are also fighting the good fight with MultiCare, the wonderful firefighters at IAFF Local 3520 who delivered coffee, our WSNA colleagues from Seattle Children's and St. Joes Tacoma, UFCW 3000, and anyone else we might have missed.
President of the Pierce County Central Labor Council Alice Phillips and Secretary-Treasurer of the Washington State Labor Council Cherika Carter also came and offered words of solidarity at our rally.
Union members from across the state and beyond have our back!
