Incentives are back!

Providence approached your officer team with an incentive for nurses to pick up extra shifts. This incentive structure is different from the previous incentive structure as the amounts of incentive are flat rate amounts. We were able to counter the initial proposal successfully to ensure night shift amounts and needs were reflected and to address issues we encountered with the first round of incentives.

  • Day shift – 300 dollars for 12-hour shift, 250 dollars for 10-hour shift and 200 for 8-hour shift.
  • Night shift – 360 for 12-hour shift, 300 dollars for 10-hour shift and 240 for 8-hour shift.
  • All calls and texts from IRC for daily staffing needs, regardless of department shall be incentive shifts. Low census and preapproved PTO will now not be deducted from meeting FTE requirements as governed by the agreement.

Settlement reached Schmidt and all affected – Supplemental Grievance
We have reached a settlement with Holy Family over a grievance filed regarding supplementals being unable to change their stratified scale as described in article 13.4 of the Holy Family/WSNA collective bargaining agreement.

During the calendar months of February and August of each year supplementals may change their stratified scales by approaching their core leader and requesting a change from 16 to 18% or 18 to 16% as described in article 13.4.

We have added an additional time in which a supplemental may seek a change for extraordinary life circumstances.

Staffing
We continue to meet monthly with administration to address staffing concerns but without completed assignment despite objection forms (ADOs) we are weakened in our ability to advocate for you.

You can complete an ADO from your phone, computer, or even print the form from the WSNA website and complete a paper copy. It only takes a few moments and is a great way to advocate for yourself, your patients, and to document the conditions in which you are working.

When you submit an ADO electronically a copy is sent to WSNA, your WSNA chairs, administration, and your management so long as you include their email address. It is a real time way to document staffing concerns, concerns with equipment and supplies, and lack of ancillary staff.

The ADO can be found on the WSNA website. Bookmark your phone so you’ll never have to search to protect yourself and your patients.

COVID and presumptive eligibility
Washington State remains in a Public Health Emergency. We do not know when this will be lifted. With COVID-19 cases continuing to rise working in health care remains a risk for contracting COVID-19. Presumptive Law RCW 51.32.185 offers protection from having to use your sick leave and PTO. It is important that you file an L&I claim. Payment begins from your first day of symptoms. Please review the fact sheet.

Additional COVID resources can be located on the WSNA website.
