What’s happening with contract negotiations?

Your team has been very busy preparing for active contract negotiations with Island Hospital leadership. We have met with our representing attorneys and currently we are working on our initial proposal while awaiting dates to meet with management.

We heard you!

Thank you to all who participated in the survey as well as the department specific town halls. We have a very clear picture moving forward about what is a priority to each of you and we will represent those with resolve at our negotiating sessions.

What can I do right now?

We are looking for unit liaisons to help communicate with co-workers on each unit and each shift. As we go through this process, we want everyone to be informed. If you can help as a liaison, please contact one of your team members listed below or email WSNA Organizer Annie Mansfield at AMansfield@wsna.org.

Stay tuned for details on actions you can take to show support for your team as we work for a GREAT contract this year. Make sure your email address and cell phone are current at WSNA – corrections can be emailed to Membership@wsna.org. Watch your inbox for updates or look for them online at https://www.wsna.org/union/island-hospital.

Lastly but most importantly, only Members of WSNA in good standing are permitted to vote on the proposed final contract! Membership applications are available on the WSNA website at wsna.org under the heading “Membership”.

Next time you see one of your negotiating team members, please tell them a resounding THANK YOU for representing all the nurses at Island!

Stefanie Meyer, BSN, RN - Treasurer
