Critical Staffing Shift Incentive Pay!

Your WSNA officers work hard all the time on behalf of the nurses at Island. We are so happy to announce a new agreement with management! We have a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will permit the hospital to offer critical staffing shift incentives for all nurses at Island. This agreement will allow management to offer shift incentive pay to nurses who work extra to help fill staffing needs. Highlights include:

  1. Lump sum incentive pay based on shift length ($200 for 12-hour shift)
  2. Per diems are eligible for this extra pay after they fulfill their obligation of 2 non incentive shifts per pay period.
  3. Payment of the lump sum will be granted even if mandatory low censused.
  4. This will be in addition to bonus shifts in accordance with article 7.9 of the contract.

Please note: You as the nurse need to be clear when asked to work extra. We strongly encourage each nurse to verify that the shift you are asked to work qualifies for Bonus Shift pay and/or critical staffing shift incentive.
