We have a deal!

We have a tentative agreement with management for the nurses’ contract at Island Hospital! We are so excited to announce that with all your help, the team and management agreed to:

  • 10.5% wage increase over 3 years. Frontloading with 6% after ratification and an additional 2.25% effective Nov. 1, 2021 followed by 2.25% Nov. 1, 2022.
  • $500 (prorated) ratification bonus!
  • NO increase in low census cap hours
  • Benefit re-opener in October 2021 to allow for negotiating benefit coverage.
  • Addition of a step 30 with 2% increase over current step 28.

The contract has improved language in many other areas as well that are beneficial to the nurses at Island. We all want to finalize this with a vote as soon as possible to allow for the increased benefits to take effect sooner rather than later. Please stay tuned for details on the dates, times, and location for voting on the contract.

We are pleased to recommend this contract for ratification, and we look forward to seeing you all at the vote!
