Updates on tuition reimbursement/loan repayment

On July 31, your officer team met with management in conference committee and advocated for a meaningful tuition or loan program to assist nurses with obtaining advancement in education. We have received indication this will be a part of benefit conversations and anticipate more updates soon.

Nurses and 1:1 recognition of experience

On July 31, your officer team also discussed the issue of wage restep for nurses current employed. KVH has indicated they will be conducting an audit of all wage resteps that have been submitted to date. At this time we do not have additional updates as this is an ongoing discussion.

Nurse staffing committee

We met on August 14 for nurse staffing committee to discuss staffing grids in preparation for grid evaluation. We have not completed all units at this time and the discussion is ongoing. If you are interested in involvement for nurse staffing committee please contact any officer or your nurse representative.

Communications

Have you heard, “I don’t receive communications from WSNA"? There may be many factors causing issues. Some email clients filter communications to junk (adding newsletter@wsna.org as a trusted contact may help avoid that) or if you have opted out of email communication from WSNA at any WSNA represented facility you may need to be added to receive communications. Your nurse representative or the WSNA membership team can help troubleshoot these issues.
