A note on Labor Councils:

We all know that when it comes to WSNA, we are stronger when we stand together, but did you know that members and leaders of different unions in Pierce County also come together monthly to support each other at Pierce County Central Labor Council meetings?

Who in our community wouldn't be impacted by a hospital's unwillingness to staff nurses properly or the local fire department being unable to hire sufficient skilled staff? What would you do if there suddenly was no trash pickup at your house or no nurse at your child's school? Union workers are all around us diligently fighting to keep our communities safe, strong, clean, and running smoothly.

Involvement in your local labor council as a representative of WSNA ensures that when the problems are big, nurses know about them and when nurses have big problems, our labor community will know that we need their help. Ask your WSNA Nurse Representative about how you can get plugged in.

This Labor Day is a day to celebrate all that we have achieved together as union members from paid sick leave, safer working conditions, and ending child labor to the right to bargain collectively and improve the future for us all.

Come celebrate with us, but more importantly, come meet members of unions across Pierce County. We are stronger when we work together.
