We Are in the Home Stretch of Bargaining Prep
Posted Aug 22, 2025
We are about six weeks away from beginning negotiations on a new contract at Mary Bridge NICU. While bargaining dates are not yet finalized, our team is selected, our prep sessions are scheduled, and we are ready to fight for the strongest contract possible for every nurse in the NICU.
Between now and the start of negotiations, we all have an important role to play. Our strength at the table comes from our unity in the workplace. That is why we are hosting a Bargaining Boot Camp on September 27. This event will cover everything you need to know about the contract campaign and how we win the improvements our nurses and patients deserve. The location will be kid and pet friendly, so bring your family and save the date. More details to follow soon.
Bargaining Prep
Your bargaining team begins negotiations prep on September 17 and September 22. These sessions will set the priorities for our contract proposals, based directly on the results of the pre-negotiation survey. If you haven’t yet completed the survey, please do so today. Your voice is how we set our priorities, and we need every nurse in the NICU to be heard.
Bargaining Team Spotlight: Crystal Anderson
“I have been a nurse in the Mary Bridge NICU for nearly 9 years. This is my second term on the bargaining team, and I am proud to now serve as Chair of our bargaining unit. I believe our strength comes from solidarity, and I am committed to making sure every nurse’s voice is heard at the table.
Outside of work, I enjoy glass blowing, torch work, and spending time at the beach with my family and our dog, Enzo.”
Step Up and Get Involved
We are building a campaign that takes all of us. Right now, we especially need a leader to attend new employee orientation for about an hour every other week. This is a simple but powerful way to welcome new nurses into our union and build our strength.
If you are interested in getting more involved in bargaining or union leadership, please connect with a local officer, Nurse Rep Jared at JRichardson@WSNA.org, or Organizer Sam Scholl at SScholl@WSNA.org.
Together, we have the power to make the NICU a safer, stronger place to work and to provide the care our patients deserve.
In solidarity,
Crystal Anderson, Chair
Randi Neff, Co-Chair
Michele Christianson, Treasurer
Rosie Robertson, Grievance Officer
WSNA Nurse Representative Jared Richardson, jrichardson@wsna.org
