We have reached a TA!

WSNA has reached a tentative agreement at UWMC Northwest for the contract starting July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2025.

Your team of registered nurses is excited to share this great achievement for RNs working at UWMC! Your voices were heard, and we focused on wages as the #1 priority.

Unlike traditional bargaining, WSNA made no concessions (no takeaways!) for the contract beginning July 1, 2023. Everything we achieved represented an improvement to the existing contract.

Your team achieved a wage package that includes a 4% wage increase January 1, 2023, 9% July 1, 2023 and another 3% July 1, 2024. Along with the 5% wage increase from August 1 of this year, that is a whopping 21% for all nurses. On top of that, we have also agreed to an additional 2% raise for all RNs on steps 1-5 of the wage scale so as to attract and retain new grads and younger RNs to UWMC.

We also achieved:

  • Immediate pay for movement to a higher paid position (this removes the 5-day waiting period)
  • An increase in standby premium from $4.25/hr to $7!
  • An expanded definition of preceptor pay to include receiving the premium for precepting travelers and senior students fulfilling their practicum
  • Double time for all for all time over 12-hours (aligning with ML)
  • Shift differential if working a majority of hours on evenings or nights and will receive that differential for the entirety of the shift!
  • A new Double Time Incentive Shift MOU that begins October 1, 2022
  • MSN or MN premium move up 1-step with proof of degree
  • House Supervisors will now receive the float premium pay of $5 (aligning with ML)
