Negotiation Update Day 4

Hello WSNA nurses,

Today your WSNA bargaining team met with management for our fourth full day of bargaining. After we presented information on wages at competing hospitals, management presented a counter offer to our proposal that would still place the nurses compensation far behind our competitors. Now we need your help!

  • We are sending out a survey to assess the impacts of living on the peninsula in order to work at Ocean Beach Hospital. This survey is confidential and we will not reveal any personal information. It is vitally important that all members fill this out so we can give examples why it is so important for OBH to remain competitive for recruitment and retention of skilled nurses here. Take the survey now!

  • Make sure your email is up to date so you can receive all of our communications and the survey by notifying Mara Kieval or emailing membership@wsna.org

  • Please plan on joining the Board meeting (in person and if possible in WSNA blue or your scrubs) here at the hospital in the conference room or via Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87073067151?pwd=K0VzUEk2alRNWFZONkcrNU16ZUNjZz09 on March 23 at 1630.

  • We are obtaining signs of support on March 17 that you can proudly display and show your unity with the negotiating team. We are also looking for volunteers to help distribute.

  • Membership is vital to showing our unity and strength to management. If you are not currently a member, sign up today @ https://www.wsna.org/membership/application

Please contact Mara Kieval for any questions or concerns at mkieval@wsna.org or 206-575-7979 ext. 3051.

P.S. Your bargaining team is meeting on their own time without the benefit of being compensated. Please consider donating some of your PTO to the team members to help offset their expenses while they bargain for us all. – Mara Kieval, Nurse Representative
