Bargaining session one update

We exchanged opening proposals with Overlake on Friday, Feb. 26. Management and WSNA agreed we wanted to solve problems with our negotiations. Our definitions of problems are very different. Our bargaining team’s opening proposals intend to fix short staffing, improve safety, and boost retention. Overlake decided that the problems include that we have too much bereavement time, that we accrue too much PTO too quickly, and we have too many rights to collective action (in fact, Overlake is proposing that we give up rights we already have under federal labor law).

We are disappointed by Management’s dismissive attitude toward us as nurses and the lack of empathy shown in their opening proposal. Our bargaining team will commit to identifying and solving actual problems in our next session on Thursday, March 4. Please reach out to Nurse Representative Sam Scholl with questions or concerns at sscholl@wsna.org.
