Mandatory Training for Overlake WSNA RN Hospital Staffing Committee (HSC) Members
Posted July 28, 2026
Join one (or more, if you like 😊) of the virtual options to learn or refresh your understanding of the staffing law and functions of your HSC at Overlake. If the options are not workable for you, please contact Nurse Representative Tara Barnes to make training arrangements tbarnes@wsna.org
Whether you are new to HSC in 2026 for the 2-year term or have much experience as a HSC member, this is required training to be eligible for HSC membership. It is also beneficial to meet with your counterparts from other units and your WSNA staff and discuss those burning questions and issues that have been challenges in your unit. Chances are, you are not alone. There are time-sensitive changes to discuss as the full implementation of the law that governs the work of the HSC rolls out this month!
HSC members and ALL Overlake RNs are encouraged to reference the staffing law and associated legislation, regulation:
The Safe Staffing Law RCW 70.41.420
Other: Chapter 18.88A RCW
WAC 246-320-010
RCW 70.41.425
RCW 49.12.480
RCW 49.28.140
