Bargaining begins 2/26 and other things:

Support your Bargaining Team!
Your Bargaining Team is going to the table Feb. 26. They will need your support to advocate for a fair contract. We ask you all to get stickers from your unit representatives and wear them Friday 2/26 in solidarity. Please contact your nurse representative Sam Scholl sscholl@wsna.org if you would like to donate PTO hours to the bargaining team.

The Team:
Chris Birchem, Sharon Sims, Pauline Whitney-Hille, Gemma Aranda, Janet Moore-Lane, Cassie Bundick, Kathryn Geren

S5 and Staffing Committee Shout Out!
Overlake attempted a unilateral change to S5’s staffing grid at staffing committee. S5 nurses said the grid was unsafe and demanded their input be considered. The nurses pushed for compromise and collaboration putting forward a grid of their own design. Overlake is now working with the nurses on a new grid to be voted on at staffing committee 3/11. Well done S5 nurses!

API-Kronos Switch
WSNA has heard about issues with pay, staffing and schedules likely related to the end of API’s lifecycle and introduction of Kronos. If you have had any issues that have not already been resolved by communicating with Overlake, please contact your nurse rep sscholl@wsna.org.

PPE Respirator Prioritization.
On Dec. 29, DOSH released a new rubric for facilities to guide facilities as to when N95 or higher level respirators are needed. L&I and DOSH are holding facilities accountable to these standards in the linked document. Reach out if you are not getting what you need to do your work safely.

COVID vaccination
WSNA wants nurses to get their vaccine as soon as possible. Overlake has released a plan to get first and second doses to employees. On 2/22- 2/26 between 0700 and 2000 go to the PACCAR Inspiration Conference Room, bypass the line and present your ID badge. You should be able to get your first or second dose.
