Read This Negotiation Update!
Posted Nov 13, 2025
Our WSNA bargaining team completed their fourth day of contract negotiations with management on November 12, 2025. At the end of the last bargaining session, we made it very clear that we felt that management’s aggressive proposals were an attack on our union and our nurses at Pullman. We invited management to reconsider its proposals, rather than pick a needless fight with us.
We are pleased to report that management heard us and has adjusted the tone of its proposals - thanks in no small part to our amazing bargaining team nurses sharing their perspectives, our bargaining unit nurses joining their union, staying informed, and wearing blue to support their team! We appreciate that management withdrew several of their proposals that were unsatisfactory for our nurses, including the following:
- Withdrawing a proposal that would have required 3 days’ notice from WSNA to request meeting rooms
- Withdrawing a proposal that would have required 3 days’ notice for the WSNA representative to be on site to investigate nurse’s concerns and enforce the compliance
- Withdrawing a proposal that would have eliminated double time for nurses
- Withdrawing a proposal that would have eliminated seniority for nurses who return to Pullman within a year of leaving
- Withdrawing a proposal that would have narrowed what tuition reimbursement funds could be applied to
We also received an economic counter proposal from management to our initial economic proposal, which demonstrated a concerted effort to have meaningful discussions around wages. Some of their proposals included the following:
- 8% year one, 3% in year two, and 2% in year three for a total of 13% across the board over three years
- Increasing charge pay from $2.25 to $3.50
- Increasing night shift premium from $4.00 to $4.50
- Increasing standby for both weekend and weekdays by 50 cents
- Increasing float premium to $3.50 but proposing to eliminate float pay for tasking
We appreciate the progress, but we still have much work to do on economics and other workplace issues. Each of you can help us continue to make progress in negotiations by getting involved and staying informed. We have more work ahead of us and will meet with management on the dates below.
Upcoming bargaining dates
