You pay, Providence saves.

We crunched the numbers, and what we found isn’t pretty.

Providence Sacred Heart wants to eliminate your Earned Illness Time and replace it with the state’s new, worker-funded Paid Family Medical Leave plan and a Short-Term Disability plan administered by a third party.

We always knew it was a bad deal, which is why we’ve been fighting so hard to keep the sick time we’ve earned. But when you break it out, like we did in the graphs below, it is even more apparent that Providence is trying to push the cost of sick time back onto you – and pocket the savings.

Sick time proposal

We deserve to keep the benefits we’ve earned. We deserve to take time off – for ourselves or our family members – with full pay. Let’s keep fighting!
