Incentive MOU VOTE and Float Pool Premium UPDATE

Recently, management approached the WSNA officer team to communicate they have been experiencing significant staffing issues on night shift in a number of areas. In an attempt to help fill the staffing gaps, while working to recruit regular staff, they are proposing the following incentive MOU with the goal to encourage the supplemental and part-time nurses to pick up extra shifts if they are able.

Thus, it’s time to VOTE the new MOU.
When? March 15, 2023 from 8 to 11 a.m.
Where? Leahy Room, near the cafeteria. Look for the WSNA signs.

Float pool premium not on your last paycheck?
No fear. We heard from you and immediately reached out to HR and asked them to promptly address it. They have told us for pay periods 1/15-1/28 and 1/29-2/11, the payroll team will calculate the retro and that retro will be on the 3/31 checks per the recently signed settlement MOU around differentials and premium pay. For pay period 2/12-2/25, unfortunately, management on the units were not informed that the pay code for float premiums were ready for use. Therefore, we have been told HR will send out communication to the applicable float pool leaders to ask that timecard corrections for the last pay period be submitted. Going forward, the pay code will be added by the timekeeper or manager.

What does this mean for you? Keep an eye on your pay stub, and make sure the float premium is on your check if you are working assigned hours in the float pool. These hours have to be manual entered so it’s important to make sure it’s always correct.
