PACU Nurses – We hear you!

It has been brought to WSNA’s attention that Management in the PACU has announced significant changes that will impact RN members. Many time-sensitive concerns have been raised regarding these changes. Accordingly, WSNA met with Seattle Children’s HR TODAY to get some answers. In that meeting, we called out:

  • Management’s failure to engage WSNA in these upcoming changes to working conditions
  • Inconsiderate and unreasonable timelines for implementation
  • Threatening, inaccurate and unclear communication from Management
  • Management’s failure to properly engage with the UBSC
  • Management’s failure to provide requested data for UBSC consideration
  • Management attempting to force the UBSC to vote on use of ‘sick time’ that may not be compliant with the law or contract
  • Lack of collaboration between leaders and frontline staff regarding the creation of staffing plans
  • The appearance of Management pushing an agenda that does not align with the Seattle Children’s main campus PACU Frontline Nurses/Staff needs

HR has committed to providing clear and accurate information no later than June 11. In the meantime, please continue to reach out to WSNA with your concerns.
