Back to the Bargaining Table (October 24)

On October 24, your negotiation teams will be back at the bargaining table to pursue a fair contract for our nurses. As we return to the table, we will continue to focus on preserving the quality and experience of public health nurses across all divisions and fighting for our key priorities.

What is next?

  • Be an Observer on October 24: Come observe negotiations on October 24th for a partial or whole day at the King County Chinook Building located at 401 5th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104 (reach out to your bargaining team or nurse rep if you are interested)
  • WSNA T-shirts: Wear your Public Health Nursing Strong WSNA T-shirt and show your union pride! We are stronger together.
  • Show up to the County Council Meeting on October 28: Come join us in-person at the County Council Meeting on October 28 at 1:15 pm at King County Council chambers at 516 Third Ave Rm 1200

We have provided the Council with our internal and public petition messages and the outpouring of community support. We will speak to the significance of gaining a strong, fair contract for the WSNA nurses who make it possible for the County to deliver on the mission of public health. We have WSNA T-shirts if you still need one. Bring a WSNA nurse peer, family and/or friends!

WSNA Grievance Filed – CHSS Decision Appealed by King County

As you may have heard, King County has appealed the recent CHSS Arbitration decision. It is alarming that King County continues to use financial resources to attack nursing positions. The CBA clearly provides:

STEP 4. Mediation and/or Arbitration. ‘…The arbitrator shall be asked to render a decision promptly and the decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding on both parties.

Their conduct is a DIRECT violation of the CBA and WSNA has every intention of taking all legal action to support the nurses and fight against the County's misplaced targeting of nurses and nursing positions.
