We got a TA on our contract. Now what?

On Dec. 15 we reached an overall Tentative Agreement with King County. We are in the process of planning next steps, including voting on this TA.

While the pandemic and the holidays makes things difficult to schedule, we are committed to voting on this contract by then end of January, 2021. In following the recommended guidelines and in setting a good example for keeping ourselves, our loved ones, and everyone else safe, this contract vote will be via mail. The details of this will come in a separate communication after the new year.

We will be scheduling education/listening sessions during the week of Jan. 11, 2021. This will be your opportunity to hear a summary of the contract changes and ask questions of the RN bargaining team, including the WSNA nurse representative and the attorney. In addition, we will be mailing you a summary of the changes along with FAQs, to help you be an informed voter.

Your contract bargaining team recommends a YES vote. But you cannot vote unless two things occur:

  1. You must be a member in good standing. If you are not a member, or are not sure if you are a member in good standing, contact our WSNA Nurse Representative Sydne James, sjames@wsna.org.
  2. WSNA must have your current mailing address. If you are not sure that WSNA has your current mailing address, contact the membership department at membership@wsna.org.

In Solidarity,
Your WSNA RN Negotiating Team: Sean Dumas, RN, Chair; Lois Schipper, RN, Vice Chair; Amy Curtis, RN
