WSNA update July 18, 2022

We have a few items of interest to share with you today:

ADO-Assignment Despite Objection

We understand staffing is a huge issue, probably in almost every department within the hospital.

For example, we have been hearing that nurse in the special care nursery (SCN) are regularly being low censused leaving one nurse alone in the unit without anyone to break them. Please fill out the ADO form so this issue can be tracked in Nurse Staffing Committee.

Nurse Rep Coverage

Sue Dunlap, your WSNA Nurse Representative, is currently out on medical leave. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Carmen Garrison at cgarrison@wsna.org and Stephenie Troftgruben at stroftgruben@wsna.org with your issues and concerns.

PTO Requests

We understand that there is an issue with getting responses in a timely manner regarding requests for Paid Annual Leave (PAL). Please contact either your local unit officers or your WSNA nurse representative (Currently Carmen Garrison and Stephenie Troftgruben). This is something we would like to bring to management’s attention in Nurse Conference Committee. We are scheduled to meet July 28 and are planning to add this issue to the agenda.

Questions about this message or any other issues? Contact one of your officers or your acting WSNA Nurse Representatives Carmen Garrison at cgarrison@wsna.org and Stephenie Troftgruben at stroftgruben@wsna.org.
