Bargaining Session 1 Update
Posted Nov 6, 2025

We met with the employer today. We are in a good position right now having a good number of sessions to exchange proposals and have substantive discussions with the employer. We opened today with proposals aimed at establishing trust and rebuilding it where PeaceHealth leadership has eroded our trust.
- Language allowing nurses to have easy access to payroll records to verify hours, pay, and leave balances, with management posting and maintain a clear guide explaining all codes and deductions on pay stubs and timecards.
- We’re working to strengthen the short rest article to ensure nurses are fairly compensated when they return to work with less than 10 hours off. Our proposal clarified that when nurses pick up an extra shift or call shift, or trade shifts that already would have qualified for short rest existed, they would receive the short rest premium. This proposal could also resolve an open grievance tied to this issue.
- We’ve proposed clearer shift differential language. Day shift nurses would receive evening shift differential when it applies. Evening and night shift nurses would receive night shift differential for their entire shift.
- We proposed stronger language that protects our rights if the employer makes changes to our insurance. We invited a conversation about ways to work together moving forward to correct issues with insurance efficiently.
- We revisited issues with the designated charge position in the last contract negotiations. We proposed changes to the language that would correct issues that have come up, and make charge nurses roles and responsibilities clearer and easier to enforce.
Join us next week, Thursday November 13. To help us know how many people are planning to join us, please fill out this survey to RSVP. The RSVP is set up so you can sign up for morning or afternoon, or both. We have all dates on here so you can plan in advance if you want to. There is a chance we might need to add or cancel some dates but we will announce when we do.
