It’s Time for Day One of Bargaining!
Posted Nov 5, 2025

Session One – November 6, 2025
After a lot of preparation and feedback from all of you, we are ready to go to the table tomorrow morning. During our last contract campaign, we told management we demanded to start negotiations for our next contract before the end of 2025 to ensure we had the best possible shot at reaching a deal before expiration. We’re holding them to that, and this will be our first of four sessions between now and the end of 2025. On this first day, we plan to set expectations with management, discuss our priorities, and make some of our opening proposals. Behind the scenes, we’ll also work during our caucuses to fine-tune additional proposals as we prepare to meet with the employer again over the coming weeks.
We are excited and ready to put in the hard work to improve our contract, and we will need you all to be there with us every step of the way. We will send bargaining updates to all of you via email, so stay tuned tomorrow evening for news from the bargaining table.
If you or any of your coworkers are not getting WSNA emails, please email WSNA Nurse Rep Bret Percival at Bpercival@wsna.org so we can update your email or troubleshoot why you are not receiving them.
Upcoming bargaining dates
Mark your calendars. We currently have 12 sessions booked through the contract's expiration. Our team is committed to doing everything in our power to get you the contract you deserve before it expires. These dates are just the first step. The hard work that makes the difference in our contract will be done away from the table and out in the hospital and community.
Keep an eye out for information on how to join us part of the extended bargaining team by observing an upcoming session. So far, we’ve scheduled bargaining on these dates:
- Thursday, November 6
- Thursday, November 13
- Tuesday, December 16
- Thursday, December 18
- Wednesday, January 14
- Tuesday, January 20
- Tuesday, January 27
- Wednesday, February 4
- Tuesday, February 10
- Tuesday, February 17
- Wednesday, February 18
- Tuesday, February 24
WSNA T-Shirts
Show your solidarity and support for the bargaining by wearing your WSNA blue T-shirts while we’re at the bargaining table. We will have them at the hospital on all bargaining days. For tomorrow, if you are at work and can take a break, or if you are off and can swing by the hospital to get a shirt, we’ll do our best to get you one. Better yet, reach out to your coworkers and help us get shirts to them! Send a text to WSNA Organizer Stephan Elmer at 425-457-0112 to connect for shirts.
Kick-Off Event
The kickoff event was a huge success. We gathered at the IAFF Local 452 Firefighter Hall. Big thanks to them for supporting local labor and WSNA Nurses! We had delicious food, shirts, and solidarity with all the dedicated nurses who made it. If you missed it, do not worry —we have many events and ways to get involved on an ongoing basis in this campaign and beyond.
Membership and Solidarity Matter
You are WSNA, the bargaining team, and officers are a small group doing their best to represent you. The power of a union, and the power to influence change, comes from the collective activity of the 1400-plus nurses working together to fight for change. If you are a non-member, the employer sees that as a vote for them. Join WSNA and get involved. We are fighting for better conditions today, for tomorrow and for the kids out there that will be nurses of the future.
