News update

ADOs do matter

Please continue to fill out the ADO forms for any staffing concerns and missed rest and meal breaks. The nurse staffing committee meets monthly and reviews these. It may appear that this information is not heard, but it definitely is. Case in point - you may have noticed a settlement check for the civil lawsuit filed for missed rest and meal breaks. ADOs were a key component in that major win for nurses. Also, the tenacity and perseverance of your WSNA Co-Chair Didi Gray played a role in gaining this result. Congratulations on the amazing win!

Another win for WSNA nurses is in the Birth Center. The Birth Center has discontinued mandatory call. This has always been a major dissatisfier and we are extremely pleased with this great news.

New Letter of Understanding

Your WSNA officers negotiated a Letter of Understanding regarding a new program on student loan repayment.

The Hospital will provide up to $400/month for 0.8‐1.0 FTE, and $200 for 0.5-0.79 FTE. The benefit is non-taxable and will run through 12/31/2025. It is slated to be implemented at the end of October. The hospital will send nurses information on participation in the program. We do not have information on how this will be implemented, only that it will begin at the end of the month. Please take a moment to review the details:

In Solidarity,
Didi Gray, Co-Chair; Dawn Marick, Secretary/Treasurer/Grievance Officer; Duncan Camacho, Member at Large; and Erin Irwin, Grievance Officer.
