Negotiation Update
Posted Nov 20, 2025
Movement was made, discussions continued
Day #2 of bargaining held several conversations around topics that will enhance benefits for the nurses, but also some that propose takeaways. Some TAs (Tentative Agreements) were made on adding members to the family definition for sick leave, and additional ways nurses can use their sick leave. We agreed to enhancements to Jury Duty leave that will provide for pay in the event a nurse is called to serve in this capacity.
Robust discussions are ahead. Before the end of the day, management made a proposal to eliminate Comp Time. We did communicate our distaste with this proposal by management and were sure to point out nurses do use this time. While we didn’t have a lot of time to dive into the hard discussions, management recognized our concern.
This is only a brief snapshot of what occurred during bargaining! Come to the local unit meeting to catch up with your fellow nurse colleagues and to find out more!

Calling all nurses! We need PTO donations for our third negotiating team RN
Our negotiation team is hard at work! While they are working on many issues important to all the nurses, only two of the WSNA negotiating team of nurses are paid by the Health District. The third nurse is paid by means of the "Negotiation Bank" which is made up of donated hours from other WSNA nurse colleagues. After day 2, the third team member has now depleted the hours we are asking for your help! We need donations of vacation hours to pay our third bargaining team nurse as we finish out the very important work on the next contract. Below is the form for donating hours. See the parameters for donating on the second page. Any donation greatly helps!
Membership matters!
We know management has ways of finding out how many nurses are WSNA members. To show management you are united, all nurses must be a WSNA member. Now is the time to come together, through membership, which will show them you are ONE.
