Have you ever wanted to get more involved in our Union? Are you looking for a meaningful way to improve working conditions for yourself and your fellow nurses?

Becoming a Union Steward is one of the most effective ways to make a difference at St. Joe’s.

Stewards help nurses understand and enforce our contract, support coworkers when workplace concerns arise, keep nurses connected and informed, and build the strength we need to win improvements at the bargaining table.

Our first quarterly Steward Training and Meeting is tomorrow, July 28. Two sessions are available so nurses on both shifts can participate:

Morning session: 0800

Evening session: 2000

During the training, we will cover:

• How to read, understand, and use our contract 
• How to support coworkers and be an effective Union leader 
• How stewards help identify and address workplace issues 
• What we can do now to prepare for negotiations next year 

You do not need previous union experience or expert knowledge of the contract. You only need a desire to support your coworkers and help make St. Joe’s a better place to work. The time commitment is less than you might think, and even small actions can make a meaningful difference.

Our Union is strongest when nurses across every unit and shift have the knowledge and confidence to stand together. Join us tomorrow and learn how you can be part of that strength.
