Keeping you informed

WSNA representatives have met with PeaceHealth leadership three times to negotiate the effects of the Governor’s proclamation on COVID-19 vaccine requirement for healthcare workers. Thus far, PeaceHealth has not been prepared to discuss numerous areas where nurse hours, wages and working conditions could be affected.

The one area where PeaceHealth has made a modest change to their policy is the timeline for when they are requiring you to be vaccinated. While WSNA continues to maintain the position that PeaceHealth should honor the timeline delineated in the Governor’s proclamation where healthcare workers must receive the final dose of their vaccination no later than October 4, they instead have modified their initial timelines for nurses to meet their policy requirements as follows:

PeaceHealth’s new policy that “requires all caregivers to be vaccinated or submit a qualifying medical exemption on or before Aug. 31, 2021.”

a) Submit documentation that the first Pfizer or Moderna vaccine injection has been received along with an appointment made for the second dose.

b) Receive the single Johnson and Johnson

c) Submit their requests for a medical exemption or an exemption based on a sincerely held religious belief to HR.

WSNA continues to bargain on behalf of all of the nurses and will continue to update you with the outcome of our future negotiations with the leadership of PeaceHealth.

For any questions or concerns, please contact your nurse representative.
