INFORMATIONAL PICKET

Date: May 3, 2022
Times: 0630-0900 and 1300-1600
Location: Ellis and Squalicum

We issued notice to the Hospital that the bargaining unit will hold an informational picket. Invite your family, friends, and acquaintances, and bring your pets!

NEGOTIATION UPDATE

Management came to the table with the same inadequate Last, Best, and Final offer as last week. We pointed out several discrepancies in their offer versus Roseanna Bell’s email from Monday, April 18. One key omission was that management’s package was contingent on the bargaining team’s recommendation that nurses accept the package. The team is unwilling to recommend this package because we believe it falls short. Additionally, we had previously tentatively agreed that the NTL/RNTL rate would increase to $3.25, but the Hospital incorrectly wrote last Monday that NTL/RNTL pay would be $4.25. We demanded that either the Hospital now agree to $4.25 or issue a correction. We are astonished it took them a full week to do that.

We had a record number of nurses attend as observers--over 70!--who came to support the bargaining team. We appreciate all of the support so much. Observers brought cans of soup that were donated to area families in need.
