WSNA Education Reimbursement—More Good News!

After nurses filed a grievance regarding the cumbersome process for requesting reimbursement for education and training, we have reached a resolution through significant process improvement by your St. Joe’s HR partners.

Effective immediately, St. Joe’s are no longer requiring travel plans for education which does not incur travel costs. They are working with Finance to change the approval process to move from the Chief Nursing Officer to the nurse’s direct manager in future reimbursement requests. Additionally, St. Joe’s leadership is also working to designate a proxy to assist with expense reimbursements. The proxy will be able to enter receipts and complete expense reports on behalf of the nurse. In order to fully implement and train to the processes described above, we are aiming to implement all improvements described by the beginning of April. HR will provide a detailed update at the upcoming Nurse Conference Committee on March 17, 2020. This update will include the new job aide. Until then, HR will continue to offer direct assistance to nurses to submit WSNA Education Reimbursement requests.
