Overpayment repayments

WSNA was notified late in the day Thursday, November 10 by VMFH leadership of their plan to require overpayment repayments. WSNA replied back with a cease and desist and demand to bargain. Subsequently, VMFH leadership agreed to meet to bargain. That means the employer should not require you to sign an agreement to a payment plan and not make payment withdrawals from paychecks until after we bargain.

We do recognize the employer does have the right to recoup the overpayments. However, we have questions and concerns about their plan including the short notice to nurses to respond, accuracy of the amounts they claim each nurse owes, amounts underpaid, and more.

We have proposed to meet this Friday to bargain and are waiting for a response from management. We will update you when we have more information.

In the meantime if you have questions or concerns, please reach out to our Local Unit Officers or Unit Reps. They always have the most current information.

In Solidarity,
Barbara Friesen
