WSNA Alert:  Mandatory COVID Testing

The Washington State Nurses Association has been made aware that CHI Franciscan has notified the RNs and staff of a Mandatory COVID Testing policy and program. We are dismayed that, as the exclusive bargaining unit representatives of the RNs at SJMC, we were not notified prior to the notice going out to staff. We are not in agreement with the unilateral implementation of this mandatory subject of bargaining. A cease and desist letter with demand to bargain the decision and effects was sent to CHI Administrator’s today.

Please send any questions or comments regarding this issue to WSNA Nurse Representative Barbara Friesen at bfrieson@wsna.org or contact any or your local unit officers.
