Incentive Pay Extended

Extra Shift Incentive (ESI) will be extended to May 15, 2021.

Double Time Incentive (DTI) for picking up open shifts and the $15.00/hour Spot Pay for Short Notice Shifts (less than 24 hours’ notice) will be extended as is through April 17, 2021.

DTI and Spot Pay will continue with modifications with an effective date of April 18, 2021 through May 15, 2021. Management is reviewing where the incentive is necessary and at this time has determined beginning April 18, 2021 the following departments will continue to be approved for DTI.

  • Med/Surg 2 South
  • Med/Surg 3 South
  • Med/Surg 4 South
  • Med/Surg 8
  • ER
  • CDU
  • Critical Care – ICU and PCU night shift only

DTI will be discontinued in IV Therapy effective April 17, 2021.

WSNA did respond to management letting them know we appreciate them recognizing the need for more staff and offering incentives. However, WSNA believes it may make more sense to include all departments and leave the option of offering the DTI shifts to managers. That we do not believe management would have anything to lose but much to gain. The DTI shifts would still be in control of management and no area of need would inadvertently be overlooked. Nevertheless, what was offered is helpful and we support them implementing the extension while giving consideration to making it house wide.
