Wonder if your paycheck is correct?

SJMC Payroll calculates overtime using the weighted pay method. That means the amount paid at the overtime rate of pay changes every week and because the paychecks are for two weeks there is no way to tell by looking at your pay stub exactly how you were paid. That has left some nurses wondering if they have been paid correctly. A grievance filed by WSNA on behalf of Sonia DaSilva that led to a settlement that provides a way for nurses verify if their paychecks are correct.

Any nurse with a question about the calculation of overtime in a specific pay period can contact an HR Representative. The HR Representative will then provide the nurse with a copy of the nurse’s Regular Rate Calculation Worksheet for the pay period in question. The HR Representative will provide an explanation of the Employer’s overtime calculation methodology and how the Employer utilized that methodology.
