Update and post negotiation survey

SNO, approved PTO and Weekend Incentive

Nurses brought to WSNA’s attention the issue of Weekend Incentive being denied when nurses that had a SNO or used approved PTO that same week they picked up a Weekend Incentive shift. We tried to resolve this with SJMC collaboratively and initially were not successful. Next, we filed grievances for nurses that had shared this information with us.

Thankfully, management has notified us they had a change of heart and agree nurses should receive the premium even if there was a SNO or approved PTO that week. They are doing and audit to try and capture the nurses this happened to. However, if this did happen to you, please let me know along with the supporting documentation so we can be sure nobody is missed at bfriesen@wsna.org.

Thank you to the nurses that brought this issue to light!

Post negotiation survey

We always strive to do our very best. For that reason we would like everyone to take post negotiation survey so we can understand what each and every SJMC nurse thought and felt about our recent contract negotiations. What was good and not so good. What should we be sure do again and what might be better not to repeat. We also want to hear from the nurses that voted no in the ratification vote. We would like to understand exactly what compelled no voters to cast a no ballot.

It is a requirement to enter your name on the survey. The reasons for this is so we are sure it is a SJMC nurse that was working at SJMC during the last negotiations. Also, so we track who has taken it so we can encourage nurses that have not to take it, just like our pre-negotiation survey. Nobody except staff at the WSNA office will be able to see who said what in the surveys so we hope to get honest, thoughtful feedback.

If you have not taken the survey yet, please take it now. You can use the QR code with your phone or can follow the link by clicking on the QR code image.
