We want to share an important update with our Astria Sunnyside members.

Our Grievance Officer, Janice Schell, is currently experiencing a significant personal hardship and, as a result, is temporarily unable to serve in her union role. Out of respect for Janice and her family's privacy, we will not be sharing additional details. We ask that everyone honor her privacy while keeping her in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Janice has dedicated countless hours advocating for her fellow nurses, supporting members through difficult situations, and strengthening our local. If you have been looking for a way to support her during this time, Astria Sunnyside does offer the option for employees to donate accrued PTO to a coworker in need.

If you wish to donate PTO to Janice, simply complete a PTO Payout Request and indicate that Janice Schell is the recipient. Requests should be submitted to Ann Marie Anderson in Human Resources.

Whether you are able to donate PTO or simply keep Janice and her family in your thoughts, your support is greatly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming her back when she is ready.
