Big News: Per Diem RNs Ratify and Join WSNA

We're excited to share some fantastic news, your vote on the Tentative Agreement to fold Per Diem RNs into the Tacoma General bargaining unit officially PASSED with an overwhelming YES vote!

Please join us in welcoming them as official WSNA nurses. This is a meaningful moment for all of us. After years of organizing and advocacy, our bargaining unit has grown by more than 100 nurses, strengthening our collective voice and our ability to advocate for safe staffing, fair working conditions, and high-quality patient care.

While these are colleagues you already know and work alongside every day, they are now fully part of our bargaining unit. Take a moment to acknowledge this milestone and help reinforce a strong sense of unity across our teams.

As we continue building our strength, we encourage anyone interested in becoming more involved to reach out to WSNA Nurse Representative Ryan Silva at rsilva@wsna.org. We're always looking for engaged team players who want to support their coworkers and help keep our union strong and informed.

This is a big win, not just for Per Diem RNs, but for all of us. Together, we are stronger, and we're excited for what we can accomplish moving forward.

In other news, Tacoma General and Allenmore RN Case Managers are gearing up for a fight. Yesterday, we filed an unfair labor practice charge under federal labor law as MultiCare refused to bargain with WSNA as the certified representative of all the RN Case Managers under the Tacoma General license. Specifically, MultiCare is refusing to bargain over Case Managers based out of Allenmore, despite previously agreeing to recognize them pending the outcome of the election. This comes after a clear majority of those nurses voted to join our contract.

When an employer refuses to recognize and bargain with a group that has lawfully chosen union representation, it is not just a technical issue.  It's a direct challenge to our rights as nurses to stand together and negotiate collectively. We won't let that stand.

We're prepared to push this forward and hold MultiCare accountable. As always, our strength comes from our solidarity, and we'll keep you updated every step of the way.

Strength In Numbers!
