Observation unit closure and elimination of other positions – layoff member meeting

On May 22, WSNA was notified by Human Resources they have made the unfortunate decision to close the Obs unit permanently and eliminate two care manager positions as well as 6 same day positions. We are sad to see this determination happen and want our valuable nurses to know we are here to support you every step of the way. Therefore, we are planning to hold an informational meeting to share what we have learned up to this point and answer any questions you may have.

Shift Differential Association Group Grievance Step 3 Meeting

Tomorrow is the Step 3 Association Group Grievance Meeting about your shift differential premiums. Since the implementation of Symplr, Peace Health has unilaterally changed the way in which they are paying this premium out to nurses. We will not allow them to make sudden changes that impact our RNs with out bargaining it. Peace Health must follow the contract.
If you would like to observe the Step 3 meeting, it will be held Thursday, May 29 at noon via Teams. Nurses are invited to join the Teams call, but as observers only. Please reserve all arguments to the WSNA officers or nurse reps. If you plan to join, we ask you to dial in 5 mins prior to the start of the meeting and stay the duration of the whole time. Please do not dial in late as this could be disruptive to the process.
