Union Grievance Filed: Violation of Contract Staffing Language

WSNA filed a union group grievance on violations of the Staffing Language in our Contract.

Your ADOs were an integral part of notifying the union and management that Safe Staffing is a HUGE concern.

We will arrange a grievance meeting with some key bargaining unit nurse leaders and will also be inviting you to join in and share your testimony.

The majority of ADOs are coming from PACU (Main & Walters), Critical Care (the PCUs), and Family Birth Center (NICU and L&D).

If you have staffing issues, let us know that everything is NOT ok.

Please keep submitting your ADOs - They DO Matter.

Racial Justice Committee Black History Month Event

The SJMC Racial Justice Committee sponsored its first Black History Month Event and it was a huge success.

This was an Immersive History Experience teaching you about the Underground Railroad and also about Black leaders who made significant contributions in African American history. Thank you to all who participated.

The Racial Justice Committee was developed from the SJMC WSNA Contract, article 15.5.  It is comprised of 4 WSNA RNs plus WSNA Nurse Representative and 5 SJMC Staff.

If you have ideas you'd like to share; or have issues surrounding racial justice in the workplace, please use the QR code on the flier to communicate with us.

Interested in Stepping up to become a Union Leader?

Your current officers are seeking members to help lead the team, either as an officer or a unit representative/steward. As we gear up for Negotiations 2027, we need a strong foundation to inform and ignite our bargaining unit members. There are different roles; we'd like to help you find the right one for you.  Talk to one of the current officers or Nurse Rep. The upcoming WSNA Leadership Conference is the perfect place to get the training.
