We Are Being Heard (But Can Get Louder If We Need To!)

About Workplace Violence

Early this morning, WSNA filed a complaint  with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries – L&I. Within a few hours, L&I reached out to let us know that 1) they were already investigating workplace violence at VM, 2) that they would include the incidents and concerns we reported in our Complaint in their on-going investigation, and 3) that they encouraged any nurses who had experienced or witnessed workplace violence to share their experience to help make Virginia Mason a safer place to work. We urge people to reach out to Nurse Rep Sara Frey at sfrey@wsna.org  who can let you know how you can help with the investigation. We urge anyone who has been attacked or witnessed an incident and hasn’t reported it to take this opportunity and do so.
