Let's celebrate Sherae Quattrocchi - Member of the Month!

My nursing career began as an acute care nurse, but I needed more challenges so after 2 years I became a full-time float nurse while covering 5 different hospital systems. Although I enjoyed the fast-paced environment and the versatility of each shift, I was driven to gain a better understanding of comprehensive care. I found my calling in community care once I became a school nurse. I enjoyed caring for my pediatric patients (and sometimes adults) in this setting.
My experiences as a unit floor nurse and a school nurse have aided me in my transition to public health. I have worked as a Public Health Nurse for the past 4 years and enjoy focusing on community health vs 1:1 patient care. I have worked at Whatcom County Health and Community Services for the past 4 years and assisted different clinical team’s departments before joining the Tuberculosis team. This role has allowed me to provide education and connect on a deeper level with my patients, their families, and the healthcare community.
Many years ago, when I was a new grad, I opted out of joining a union because I didn't understand the benefits of membership. Later, I regretted not being a member when I faced adversity and had no one to advocate for me. I value my membership with the WSNA knowing that I have an ally. I look forward to strengthening my connection to the union through continued meetings and events.
- Sherae Quattrocchi, RN PHN MSN
