Bargaining Unit UPDATE!

PLEASE VOTE!

Agreement on Preceptor Floating

WSNA filed a grievance because CAP agency preceptors were being given the opportunity to precept before Good Sam WSNA Nurses. Nurses at Good Sam were also required to float before CAP preceptors when they had a preceptee. After many months of back and forth, WSNA and MultiCare have reached an agreement on this matter and memorialized it in the proposed Letter of Agreement (LOA). Management must offer the opportunity to precept to regular staff before assigning that duty to travelers. If travelers are assigned as preceptors when there are not enough regular staff preceptors, then the travelers are exempt from floating when assigned a preceptee.

START Resource Agreement

Local Unit Rules Update!

WSNA and your local unit officers are asking you to approve an update to our Local Unit Rules. The Local Unit Rules are essentially the bylaws for our local unit. They spell out how local unit membership, officer positions, elections, committees and meetings will be handled. The focus of the proposed update centers on the addition of officer positions along with improved descriptions of officer duties.

Your WSNA officers recommend a YES VOTE!

The VOTES for the Precepting LOA, START MOU, and update to the Local Unit Rules will be held on Wednesday August 13 starting at 0600 and conclude on Thursday August 14 at 1800.

These will be electronic elections. In order to receive a ballot, WSNA must have your correct email address on file.  If you do not receive a ballot by 0600 on August 13, please check your junk mail and contact the WSNA Rep. at Telmore@WSNA.org to problem solve. You can also go to https://www.wsna.org/membership/update-info to update your contact information yourself.

Contract Negotiation Survey!

The current contract between WSNA and Good Samaritan expires on March. 31, 2026. The pre-negotiation member survey is a vital step in our preparation for contract negotiations. Your input is critical in determining our priorities as we head to the bargaining table to advocate for your needs. We cannot consider your issues and concerns unless we hear from you. All responses are confidential. WSNA and your contract negotiating team do not share this information with anyone. We ask for your current contact information so we may contact you if we have questions about your responses and can share important information with you. We will also need an accurate email address on file for you to ensure you get a ballot when that time comes!

Student Loans and Progressive Guidance (Discipline)

If you have received progressive guidance and had your student loan payments stopped, please contact the WSNA Rep. As soon as possible, but no later than August 15, 2025. MultiCare has come to agree with WSNA’s position that progressive guidance shouldn’t have been a reason to stop student loan payments. WSNA needs your name and when the payments stopped in order to get your payments restored.

Your WSNA Officers
