Negotiation Survey, Staffing Committee Update, and More

Negotiation Survey Now Live
The pre-negotiation survey is live, and it is critical that every nurse fills it out. This survey gives us the power to speak with one voice at the bargaining table and tell management exactly what nurses expect in our next contract. When we show that the majority of nurses stand behind our priorities, we build the solidarity that gives us strength in negotiations.
Complete the survey today and encourage your co-workers to do the same. Every response counts, and five nurses that fill out the survey will win an item of their choice from the new WSNA store!
International Nurse Experience
We know that many nurses with international experience, especially those from the Philippines, are not credited for the full scope of their experience. This practice is unjust and discriminatory. These nurses complete accredited education and pass the same NCLEX as their U.S. and Canadian-trained colleagues.
At St. Joe’s and St. Clare’s, WSNA fought for and won contract language that credits internationally experienced nurses with their full years of service. We believe MultiCare must do the same. If you are an RN with international experience, please fill out the form below so we can demonstrate the widespread impact of this issue.
Hospital Staffing Committee Update
The next Hospital Staffing Committee (HSC) meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 4. Management has repeatedly undermined the process by stacking the vote in their favor, passing staffing plans with more managers than nurses at the table. This violates both the spirit and the letter of the law, which requires equal representation between staff and management.
We will not allow this to continue. WSNA will file complaints with the Department of Health and demand that the 2026 staffing plans, passed with an illegal majority of managers, be invalidated. After the meeting, we will send an update on the next steps.
Visit Us in the Cafeteria and on Rounds
WSNA officers will be set up in the cafeteria during the HSC meeting starting at 1530 on August 4. Stop by to connect with your officers, grab some WSNA swag, and talk with us about upcoming negotiations, staffing issues, and anything else on your mind. We will also be rounding on the units following the meeting.

Stay in the Loop!
As our contract negotiations approach, it’s crucial that every nurse stays informed on what’s happening at the bargaining table and beyond. Voting this year will also be electronic, and in order to cast a ballot we must have an updated personal email on file for you. If you’re not getting email updates from WSNA, check your junk and spam folders. You can update your contact information here. Make sure you follow our Instagram, @tg_nurses, or ask a coworker to add you to our private Facebook group.
