We’ve been waiting months for that?

myCurrentUpdate.tableOfContents =

After months of waiting, the County finally gave us their full wage proposal and BOY is it disappointing. We met jointly with the supervisors and the County on July 11 for our 12th bargaining session.

Here's what they're offering:

  • Wage increases that don't keep up with inflation = a pay cut
  • A flat out rejection of our proposal for longevity steps after year 10. Something they promised to address in the last contract

Their excuse? They say staffing isn't that bad, so they don't see the need to retain experienced nurses. We know that's not true.

Here's how you can help us push back:

  • Submit an ADO every time staffing, safety, or resources are inadequate
  • Document missed breaks every shift. This helps us fight for consistent, legal break coverage.
  • Sign the petition demanding a fair contract with step increases throughout your career, a fair wage increase, and continuation of the parking benefit at KCCF

Other key issues:

  • Parking: They still want nurses to pay full rates at KCCF.
  • Equity: They continue to refuse to agree to allow discrimination to be grieved.
  • Small win: Continuing education funds will not be prorated! Everyone gets the full amount regardless of FTE.

Our next session is Wednesday, July 16. Want to observe? Contact your nurse rep.

We're in this together! Reach out with any questions.
