HAVE YOU SEEN THESE NLRB POSTINGS AROUND THE HOSPITAL REINFORCING YOUR UNION RIGHTS?

The National Labor Relations act is a federal law that grants employees the right to form or join unions; engage in protected, concerted activities to address or improve working conditions…. Employers may not restrain or coerce employees who are exercising their rights under the NLRA.

That is exactly what Multicare has been doing and WSNA believes is continuing to occur at Tacoma General Hospital. The previously discussed illegal surveillance by CEO, Bill Roberston is another example of such activity. Not surprisingly, Mr. Roberston stated in an August 31, 2016 letter to Multicare employees, “We don't think a union is a necessary or productive addition…” Recently, a Multicare physician was involved in such protected, concerted activity when Multicare took action against her. The physician filed an unfair labor practice charge, and as a result MultiCare is required to post this official Notice promising not to interfere with YOUR RIGHTS under the National Labor Relations Act.

WSNA continues to fight your rights and a fair contract! Multicare continues to attempt to frustrate the bargaining process instead of having meaningful conversations about REAL SAFETY AND STAFFING ISSUES. HEY BILL! – start following the law! Your nurses deserve respect and a fair contract!
